Why did Russell Brand and Katy Perry split up? Wot no kids - cartoon caricature of the couple split

The tables have surely turned for Russell Brand. A man who at one time was more famous for his sexual exploits, boozing and drug-taking than he was for being the comedian and actor that he is now. Russell Brand appears to be ending his marriage to Katy Perry as she is not yet ready to wave goodbye to her partying lifestyle, settle down play wifey and have children. If the source is to be believed that is! Who would have thought it?

"They were believed to have fallen out over Perry's partying lifestyle, but now it's emerged that Brand decided to end their 14-month-long union because his wife was not ready to settle down and have kids.

A source told the Sunday Mirror: "He wanted her to stay at home, do the whole Hollywood housewives thing. But that was never going to happen for Katy, she loves her singing career."

If the source is correct and Russell Brand really is divorcing Katy Perry after just 14months of marriage due to her party lifestyle I think personally he is being a little harsh. Did they not discuss how their lives would change or not change when they tied the knot? One year is no time at all in a marriage and perhaps is too soon for a young bride to be thinking about children and domestic chores. Especially one as high profile and 'current' as Katy Perry.

Russell...if this really is your reason, then mate, give her time.
