The Great Fashion Cover-Up...what's it all about?

Fashion is a bit of an anomaly these days. On one-hand people pursue fashion because they want to be seen to be on-trend and yet being on-trend these days largely means being hidden. Large sunglasses, hats and hoodies, tattoos, hair extensions, long thick scarves...all fashion items which seek to cover up the most telling parts of a human adults body.
The eyes are the door to the soul...or so they say! And yet these days they are often hidden behind sunglasses and large sweeping fringes.
What is the reason behind this fashion cover up? What are we trying to hide, why and from whom? Are there so many people now in civilized society that we can't not be seen so we try to hide ourselves wherever we are. And yet due to our vanity we must at the same time ensure that the shell we use to represent ourselves...our outer garb, should be considered cool cover-up gear.
When we hide ourselves behind fashions great cover-ups, we are hiding frail, insecure natures. The truly bold and beautiful, the confident and the powerful do not need cover-ups. They step out without shades (unless of course it's blindingly sunny) and allow the world to see them.
So the question is...are you part of the great fashion cover-up or are you stepping out proud?
