Alien Defence Program and Subsequent Tax - Is it just a matter of time?

I am very skeptical about global warming. I don't doubt that climate change is occurring I just doubt the cause. As the debate rages on in the science community as to whether man is responsible for climate change, I can't help but wonder why would governments lie?

Given that thus far our only defense against global warming appears to be higher taxes as oppose to denying us certain excesses, the clear answer would appear to be 'money'. Blaming climate change on man is undeniably very profitable.

This got me wondering what grand money making scheme might be next, an alien defense tax perhaps? What more perfect way to bleed the constituents dry. There are no aliens and thus no money needs to be spent on 'actual alien defense weapons' and yet the proof the alien defense tax is money well spent will be that we are never invaded.

I predict that at some point in the next fifteen years there is some type of 'alien threat'. After the initial hysteria and 'close shave' there will be a global alien defense tax in place to fund the weapons needed to protect us from the threat of alien attack or alien invasion.

Am I cynical, crazy or is this a possibility? You decide!
