This is a very recent illustration of mine created for someone I know rather well who will be self-publishing a book of quirky short stories and poems shortly.

As you can see the illustration is very suited to a children's book with it's colourful singing moon cows! However the story is in fact science fiction and aimed at adults. It was for this reason I was not sure that how I envisaged the moon cows to look would match that of the authors but to my great delight it somehow did and they are delighted.
I hope to see this illustration and a few more I'm drawing for this contact in print very soon.
I created the picture first by drawing it free-hand with a black gel pen and then shading with a combination of oil pencils and pastels. Oil pencils are not very well-known as colouring pencils go, but they are amazing as you can blend the colours to great effect. I then enhanced the colours digitally using some software I have (which is actually a child's program!) called 'Toonworks'.
One tick in a box and suddenly all the colours are enhanced and thus we have this very vibrant result.
I hope you enjoy it and fall in love with the singing moon cows as I have done!
