If you are an Internet writer who wants to write about what is hot and what is not and most importantly wants to write about something that everyone wants to read about then knowing what the world are entering into their search engines in their thousands is very helpful.
Some Internet Sites provide information about the worlds most searched for items freely but now so can you!
AOL have a free widget which you can place on your website or blog to enable you to find out what is hot on AOL ie: who are the most searched for celebrities? Usually the most searched for celebrity is Britney Spears and last week she was the most searched for person in the world! Ridiculous as it may seem this is startlingly true.
What's a widget you may ask?
Wikipedia says this about website widgets
"A web widget is a portable chunk of code that can be installed and executed within any separate HTML -based web page by an end user without requiring additional compilation. ... .....Widgets often take the form of on-screen tools - clocks, event countdowns, auction-tickers, stock market tickers, flight arrival information, daily weather etc."
The AOL hot searches widget can be viewed here:

If you want to write for a large waiting audience check out AOL hot searches widget. Adding the AOL widget to your website is a simple matter of copying and pasting the code displayed when you click on the widget via the HTML feature of your website design tools.
If I can manage this as a technophobe then so can you!
