Like women of any age I am ever in search of the ultimate wrinkle preventer, remover, disguisor and I believe I may have found a 100% natural product which retails at a mere £7 ($14) for 200g which does a great job.
I came across Shea butter after writing an article here about porridge oats and how an ingredient called Beta Gluten has been shown to have some benefit in reducing the appearance of wrinkles. One of the comments left mentioned Shea Butter and after reading about it on the internet I ordered a pot of 100% pure unrefined Shea butter.
So what is Shea Butter?

"Shea butter or Shea nut butter is a slightly yellowish or ivory-colored natural fat extracted from fruit of the shea tree by crushing and boiling. Shea butter is widely used in cosmetics as a moisturizer and an emollient. Shea butter is also edible. It is used as a cooking oil in West Africa, as well as sometimes being used in the chocolate industry as a substitute for cocoa butter."
Shea Butter is reported as providing relief from many skin and hair conditions due to it's emoilent and vitamin properties.
I use a tiny amount of this before I go to bed on cleansed skin and after several days using it as a matter of routine in the evening I am pleased with the results. My skin is hydrated, appears less lined though I realise that could be wishful thinking on my part but generally appears to benefit from it's application.
However the most beneficial use of this product has been with my hair! I have bleached blonde hair which with daily tonging is often lacking luster and shows the signs of heat and colour damage. If I apply some raw shea butter to my dry hair and leave it on for about two hours before washing it off, the results are amazing. My hair is 'as new'. I have never used a product that has an effect as seemingly immediate in terms of repair as with Shea butter and so can recommend it highly for hair repair.
Please do bear in mind though, this review reflects my personal opinion only and I am not an expert on wrinkle prevention or hair care!
