The Worlds First Pregnant Man - media lie!

I imagine I was not alone when I tuned in recently to watch the highly publicized documentary about 'The World's First Pregnant Man'.
I was intrigued to find out what miracle of biology had made it possible for the male anatomy to conceive and home a baby. Imagine my disappointment to find that no biological mystery or miracle had occurred as what was claimed to be 'the worlds first pregnant man' was biologically a woman.
This was in fact a story about what may or may not be the worlds first transgendered person becoming pregnant which is really nothing newsworthy given that this 'man' is a 'man' on paper alone and in terms of biology remains very much female despite having had her breasts removed and needing male hormone treatment to achieve a more male appearance. Hormone treatment which ceased in order for this 'woman' to conceive and remain pregnant etc.

The documentary and the comments left by the happy 'mums-to-be' defied belief as they both tried to argue that 'mum' was the worlds first pregnant man on the basis that she looked like one! Well I am sure that butch looking naturally flat chested women might have something to say about that!
Looking male doesn't make you biologically male, anymore than my dancing dog is a real dog just because it looks like one! The stupidity in the promotion of this case as the worlds first pregnant man defies belief and while documentary makers and newspapers seemed happy to publicize the event as such the reading viewing public were not so gullible!
As a side issue, it was also noted on this program that the transgendered woman to man had been allowed to change her birth certificate to reflect that she was born male. This shocked me somewhat as it now appears that it is quite legal to blatantly lie on legal documents.
I have no problem at all with how people choose to live their lives and this article is NOT in way discriminatory towards transgendered people. It is merely the dishonesty and hypocrisy I object to.

Hi CB.When I first heard about it, I thought it was a farce. Then I heard he/she was transgendered and I said, "Ahhh." There's that old saying, "If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, then it is a duck," but I will for no reason accept that if he/she looks like a man, he/she is a man. That's just nuts.Loved your video. It was nice to hear your voice. Now I have a face and voice to go with your words.DianneThanks Dianne, though I tried hard to disguise my brummy accent and have a heavy cold at the moment so sound a tad 'deeper'. It was fun making this video, my daughter caught me messing about with her toy dog and thought I'd lost the plot!
CB, bet he flunked his DNA test, too. It's just another example of "if you believe then you will achieve." That's great to know. By the way, did I ever tell you I'm the first man to ever walk on Mars? Yep, it's true. I know the facts suggest otherwise, but I believe it, so that makes it so. Sheesh!!I know it defies all logic doesn't it. Thanks for the comment Danny :)
CB,Thank you for this article! I wasn't the only one thinking the same thing. It's simply amazing to me that they would put this out there as the first "pregnant man" when she's not even a man! The article was great and I loved the video. You must be proud to own the world's first dancing dog...and I noticed it spoke in a female british voice so it can talk too!!! Wow, you're going to be rolling in the money!!! (Smile)Have a great day!I can't believe that the worlds fore most newspapers have not been in touch yet about my amazing 'real talking dancing dog' what's wrong with these people ;)
Thanks James :)

Follow Dr Jeannette Kavanagh on twitter! When that transgender person was born, s/he was born with the potential to be brought up as either a boy or a girl.I think it's sad that parents have to live through the shock of giving birth to a child whose initial gender is in doubt - because to some extent, they have the genitalia of both genders (they're transgender). Then the parents have to make the horrendous decision about whether to bring their child up as a boy or a girl. Depending on the extent of the transgendered state, parents may have to opt to have various body parts removed or hidden. It's a very difficult decision and one I'm glad I've never had to make. The next stage of the decision-making occurs at puberty, or sometimes before, when the person her/himself begins to feel inauthentic, uncomfortable as the man or woman - the gender chosen for them by their parents.I'm happy for that person whose story I didn't see: happy that he can make a choice about his gender identity and be the person he always wanted to be. I'm sure his parents acted only out of love and tenderness towards him, when they decided to raise him to think he was female. Just because at one stage he looked female doesn't mean that he wasn't also much more male than you or I would ever want to be: transgender isn't just about appearance. Live and let live: may their baby bring them great happiness. This person was not born with genitalia of both sexes (hermaphrodite), they were born 100% female. She chose chose to live as male (transgender). This is her choice and this choice is not in way shape or form the subject of this article. The subject is the claim that she (with the internal anatomy of a female) is the worlds first pregnant man leading us to believe a biological impossibility has occurred, when none has.
While your sentiment is appreciated your comment is unrelated to the article content. There is a link in the article which leads to the 'story' which should clarify that this person was not hermaphrodite at birth.
I saw a few minutes of the program, couldn't take any more. Missed the birth certificate part. I thought that was not allowed?I also thought it wasn't allowed. It makes you wonder what else (history itself perhaps) is rewritten and given a legal seal of authenticity. Thank you for your comment.
Great article! I had the very same reaction to the news of this so-called "pregant man." When a real man gets pregnant, I want to hear about it. Until then, I wish the media would keep disgusting stories like this one to itself.Even more annoying is how much this couple got paid for their revelation!!
Dearest Creative Blogger, which you do quite well by the way. I not only enjoyed your article, and agree with it wholeheartedly, but also your You Tube presentation on the subject as well. I remember that day when I heard this on the news, and the first thing out of my mouth, was nonsense!! I am not a believer of a "man" who in my opinion, is not a man at all having a baby!! It is a biologically impossible for that to happen. I found this story on television, like you, not even newsworthy. Just because I can put in "breast implants" doesn't make me a woman, I am what the good Lord intended me to be...A man, (cowboy to boot)! I am sending you an email with a joke that I think you will laugh until you cry, it too is on you tube.... I like you, have no problem with the way folks live their life, and what they do to their body, well, I really don't want to go there.....in any event, I guess it is none of my business, I just have a hard time swallowing the whole concept of transforming myself to something I'm not. I reckon that makes me opinionated, and narrow minded. But oh well, to each their own, at least I was able to find out something that I share in common with Lesbians, we both have the same interest!!! We both like the same things!!! So I guess I can relate with that. I loved your article, and the accent!, I am becomming a fan of yours if you don't mind....I will read more of your work, I loved this one.....your friend in pen.......GaryThanks Gary, the Youtube video is hilarious! Poor Eve ;)Creative Blogger, I thought you would find if funny.....I loved your article, was so true, and I certainly agree....your friend in pen.....Gary.....
