Who Knows What Goes On Behind Closed Doors - Swingers, Infidelity and Murder!

The respectable middle aged couple, last seasons fashions, sensible shoes, husband out washing the car every Saturday morning, wife washing the curtains every Saturday afternoon, and both out swinging at fetish clubs Saturday evening. No? You'd be surprised. Someone is attending these ever increasing events and as singles are not allowed, somewhere a couple near you are swinging.
Swinging for the uninformed involves consenting couples communing and swapping partners.
I recall perhaps two decades ago the whole idea of ‘swinging' being something that was very much for a ‘certain type' of person, or so it was believed. But the more conversations I have, the more ‘reality TV' I watch, the more I find that these clubs are populated by fairly ordinary folk.
Hence the title, who knows what goes on behind closed doors?
What indeed. This article was actually inspired not by the swinging community but from an article posted here about an American Politician who was found to be using the services of prostitutes. The topic and the comments that followed prompted a ponder.
We do not know what goes on behind closed doors and as such it is entirely possible that the wife (perceived as the victim) not only knew of her husband's infidelity but also could have encouraged or even initiated it. It is not unheard of for women who may have no desire to have sexual relations with their husbands or cannot fulfil some unusual desire to recommend that their husbands use the services of a professional. This is preference to their husband having an affair.
I am not for one moment suggesting that is the case here, but really, how do we know…..what goes on behind closed doors?
Perhaps that is not the arrangement at all, perhaps the wife knew nothing at all about this situation, but while she is oblivious to it, perhaps her husband is oblivious to her affair with the handsome gardener.
Or as the majority suspect, this is just one of those cases where the wife is faithful and committed and her husband is a philanderer.
I very much reserve judgement on matters like this and rarely condemn publicly condemned people when the full facts are unknown and can never be known unless the parties concerned disclose them fully. I do though think if a wife remains loyal and stands by her husband in these circumstances that there is more to the situation than meets the eye.
It might not be any of the versions provided above, it could simply be that she has too much to lose by a divorce, her lifestyle, and wealth. It could be that regardless she loves her husband and while loyal understand he has ‘needs' she cannot fulfil or perhaps she has just elected to forgive. Maybe she has not forgiven him at all and in private they are in separate rooms, living separate lives, only presenting a united front for the preservation of the public career etc.
So many variables, so much we do not know.
Sexual experimentation aside, how many of us know who are the spouse beaters, the abusers, the thieves, the drug users, the one who buried the neighbour under the patio after a row about noise.
